Responses needed: County Team
Parents and Swimmers,
I'm packing a lot in this email, please take a moment to read through. Some repeats a message from coach but I'm also including things parents need to know.
TRANSPORTATION FROM SCHOOL: We have 10 girls and 10 boys swimming in the prelims on Thursday and Friday. We are looking for at least 1 more parent for each day that can meet at Archer at 1:30pm to help drive swimmers. Please respond or contact coach ASAP. Swimmers should make arrangements to be picked up at the end of the meet at West Gwinnett.
MEALS: Swimmers will be given a CFA boxed lunch prior to departure then we will head over to West Gwinnett. The meet begins at 5pm (with warm ups prior).
We are also providing swimmers with snack bags as it can be a long day. Please have each swimmer fill out this survey TODAY: https://forms.gle/FNfHS9V7PnzzDAfa8 Parents please ask your swimmer if they received this email, it will not deliver to any students using their GCPS emails address.
SPECTATORS: Due to Gwinnett County modified covid occupancy there have been some limitations made for admission. ONLY SPECTATORS WITH A WRISTBAND WILL BE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE ADMISSION TO ENTER.
Each team is allotted a set number per session. We have been allocated 2 per swimmer for the prelims and 20 for finals. (More about meet structure below). This is to ensure the the occupancy levels are not exceeded.
NO WRISTBAND = NO ENTRY
Admission fees at the door for those with wristbands are:
- Adults: $5.00
- K-12 students: $3.00
- Heat sheets: $5.00
There is NO Re-entry into themeet.
Masks are required in all GCPS indoor events.
There will be no admittance without the wristband, and we will NOT have any extra at the door.
Please share the live stream with those who cannot attend. Anyone uncomfortable in a venue with hundreds of people and high humidity/heat is encouraged to watch online. (more about that also below)
Parking is very limited. I highly suggest arriving early or carpooling with other parents if possible.
HOW TO GET YOUR WRISTBAND: I won't be picking them up until Wednesday night at the county dive portion.
Girls (Thursday): please respond to this email let me know you are coming. WHEN YOU ARE WALKING UP TO FRONT DOOR OF THE MEET- TEXT ME: 314-368-6519 and I will come meet you. Alternate option is to pick up at Mountain Park Wednesday between 3p-6:30p (? not sure how long dive meet will last).
BOYS (Friday): You can pick up Wednesday night at Mountain Park, anytime Thursday from my home off Indian Shoals/June Ivey Rd, carpool Friday at AHS OR Text me at arrival friday at the pool: 314-368-6519 *You must let me know if you want to pick up at my home.
FINALS (both genders): We will likely have 16 swimmers and only 20 wristbands. Details to come on how we will arrange this, likely they will be given at prelims. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WILL NOT NEED A WRISTBAND so I can allocate to other parents.
LIVE STREAM: It is being broadcast by same company as last year. (Quality broadcasting most of us were very pleased). It is $10.99 a month subscription through the NFHS and will include the state meet live as well. (Cancel after state so you are not charged again.)
